Under our logo it is stated "NOT JUST FOR SENIORS ANYMORE." This is further attested (a golf word) to by some of the content in this month's journal entry. I recently dropped by Ron Weber's Success Training and Total Golf Learning Center located in the basement of the Phoenix Towers on South Circle. I wanted to take some photos of Ron to go with this story. The facility is an executive gym, which has been in Colorado Springs much longer than most of those sweat shop fitness centers all around town. Within the facility is a golf training area. When you walk into it you see two practice pads, video monitors and equipment, and mirrors.
Ron was watching the Honda Golf Classic and waiting for his client, Libby Westfall. She is a 13-year-old freshman at Pine Creek high School. After he introduced me to Libby she promptly skipped up to one of the pads and began taking swings. I started to ask her why she did not do any stretching exercises first, and then I recalled she was 13, right? Ron has been coaching her for only three months. Take a look as her follow though. Wow!
I asked Ron to take a swing and shot a photo. Note his follow through and Libby's. He's a professional instructor. She's a high school freshman. Go figure.
I also took a photo of Ron with his video equipment.

I understand Ron still offers all the balls you can hit in an hour for $15, so if it's raining or snowing outside there is a place where you can hone your swing in pleasant surroundings. As I write this story it's 28 degrees and it is snowing for the first day of a three-day assault.
Ron is a client of SeniorFriendlyGolf in that we distribute valuable coupons to area tournament golfers on his behalf. We expect to distribute around $5,000,000 in free merchandise, services and products this year golf season. Ron's offer is a free one-hour personal training session and total body analysis and nutritional profile or a one-hour golf swing analysis and videotape session and core and club analysis. Both of these packages carry a $150 price tag. I'll bet if you are in the Colorado Springs area and mention you read about him on our web site he'll honor the deal for you. Or just tell him John Darling sent you.
One thing I really like about the Success Center is the quiet atmosphere and professional trainers Tracy Iverson and Brett Barnes. I don't see how anyone can achieve his or her fitness goals without a trainer. I am sure it often happens that some people join a "heath" club and then lose interest and quit after a few months. Of course they have the benefit of continuing to pay monthly fees for one to three years. Too bad that happens. Sure trainers are expensive, but so are injuries, old age and medical bills. A custom designed fitness program with a professional trainer and a proper nutritional diet can make life much more enjoyable for everyone and especially for us seniors. I say this with a certain degree of hypocrisy. Okay, Ron, I'll get back in there soon.
